Homemade hamburgers with oven roasted potato wedges
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 400g beef mince
- 1 brown onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce (optional)
- ¼ cup parsley leaves, chopped
- 1 egg, lightly whisked
- sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 bread rolls, halved
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tomatoes, thickly sliced
- 4 fancy lettuce leaves
- 500g ready to roast frozen potato wedges
- Tomato chutney or sauce
Method
- Place the beef mince, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, parsley and egg in large bowl
- Season with salt and pepper and mix with your hands until evenly combined
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into a patty to fit the size of the bread rolls
- At this point the patties can be frozen, if desired
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat and cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through
- Place the bread rolls, cut-side up, under a hot grill and toast for 1 minute or until golden
- Place the patties onto the bottom halves of the toasted rolls with the cheese slices
- and place under the grill for 1 minute or until the cheese is just melted
- Top with the toasted bread roll tops with some tomato chutney or sauce, add sliced tomato and lettuce and serve with oven roasted wedges and extra tomato chutney or sauce
